Managing Partners
James R. Moore brings 30 years of financial and operations management to Avogadro. He has raised capital for high and low technology ventures, assisted in successful M & A transactions, set up manufacturing and distribution operations, and managed organizations as large as 400 people. For the past ten years, Jim has worked with early stage technology companies in the Northwest, serving in roles including COO, CFO, VP Ops and Director. Jim earned an M.B.A., a Master in Regional Planning, and a B.A. (Engineering & Applied Physics) from Harvard University.

James L. Stanton has over 25 years experience developing new ideas into successful ventures. Prior to co-founding Avogadro, Jim was the COO for Dimension4, an early stage technology company specializing in the conversion of complex graphical information into data formats. Jim was a member of the Board of Directors and the VP/Group Product Manager of Wizards of the Coast, which grew from a 40-person firm to a profitable, 300-person multinational company with sales exceeding $100 million. He was founder, manager, director, and investor in numerous entrepreneurial ventures in both the United States and the Far East, including Seavex Limited, Apa Productions Ltd., and Pacific Publishing Company. A graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Business School (M.B.A.), he has been a member of Boards of Directors of both non-profit and business organizations in the Puget Sound region.

Lou Bianco (a Founder of Avogadro) is a co-founder and CFO of Cell Therapeutics a NASDAQ-listed biotechnology company (Sym: CTIC). Mr. Bianco has managed Cell Therapeutics through eight private placements (including seed round funding), an IPO, and follow-on equity and debt offerings, which aggregated over $500 million in gross proceeds. Previously, he served as Vice President-Risk Management at Deutsche Bank Capital Corporation and held senior managerial positions at Goldman Sachs & Co., Deloitte & Touche and Arthur Andersen & Co. He is a CPA and holds a M.B.A. from New York University Graduate School of Business.

Leonard R. Pritchard has 25 years of corporate finance experience and during the past seven years has worked with over 30 start up and early stage companies as an investment banker. Prior to joining Avogadro, Leonard was the Managing Director for a Seattle-based investment banking firm that focused on arranging equity and debt financing for start up and emerging companies. He spent 13 years in the Far East with several of the world's largest financial institutions including Solomon Smith, Barney & Co. and National Westminster Bank. Leonard is a graduate of the Boston University's School of Management and is a licensed securities representative, Series 7 and 63.

Avogadro Partners' Scientific Board of Advisors
Dr. Viola Vogel, PhD. is the Director of The Center for Nanotechnology, University of Washington and an Associate Professor, Bioengineering, at the UW. She established the Center for Nanotechnology in 1997 and now oversees the R&D of a multidisciplinary team of over 55 faculty members and nearly 40 graduate students. The Center is conducting R&D in the fields of chemical engineering, physics, electrical engineering, chemistry, materials science, bioengineering and biophysics. Dr. Vogel was appointed to President Clinton's panel to prepare the white paper that led to the National Nanotechnology Initiative and she a consultant to the Government of Singapore's effort to develop a leading biotechnology center in Asia.

Dr. Adrian Roberts, Ph.D. is the former Interim Laboratory Director of the Battelle Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, a U.S. Department of Energy multi-program Laboratory with a staff of 3,400 and an annual R&D budget of $500 million. Previously, he was the Associate Laboratory Director of Applied Science and Technology of the Battelle-University of Stony Brook partnership that manages the Brookhaven National Laboratory for the D.O.E. Dr. Roberts is now a consultant on technology management and commercialization. He has over 20 years of technology licensing and commercialization experience. He is also a teacher at the Oregon Health Sciences University and advises its Center for Entrepreneurial Growth.

Dr. Jack Singer, M.D. is the Executive Vice President and Chairman of the Research Program, of Cell Therapeutics, Inc., a NASDAQ traded company. Dr. Singer is one of the founders of Cell Therapeutics, where he has been a Director since its inception in September 1991. From April 1992 to July 1995, he was Executive Vice President, Research and Development. Prior to joining Cell Therapeutics, Dr. Singer was a professor of medicine at the University of Washington and a full member of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. From 1975 to 1992, he was the Chief of Medical Oncology at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Seattle. He received his M.D. from State University of New York, Downstate Medical College.

Dr. Tim Hunkapiller, Ph.D. is the Co-founder, President and Chief Scientific Officer of Discovery Biosciences, Corp. Dr. Hunkapiller received his Ph.D. from the California Institute of Technology in Molecular Biology and prior to co-founding Discovery Biosciences, he held a Research Assistant Professor appointment in the Department of Molecular Biotechnology at the University of Washington. While at California Institute of Technology, Dr. Hunkapiller originated the model for the automated, fluorescent DNA sequencer, which has led to products such as the ABI 3700™ and the MD Megabase™ sequencers and, which continues to enable the Human Genome Project. His research focus has included molecular immunology, evolution, computational genetics, and comparative genomics. He is an expert on the genetics, genomic organization and functional diversity of the immune system.

Dr. Eric Shulenberger, PhD, JD -- Eric is the Director of Multidisciplinary Research Development for the University of Washington. His specialty is assembling teams to write effective, complex multidisciplinary research proposals by directing all aspects of a proposal, from initial idea development through detailed strategic planning to final writing, editing, and submission. Eric holds a PhD in biological oceanography from Scripps Institution of Oceanography, a Masters in mammalian physiology, and is a member the California Bar. He has twice been a scientific research program manager in Washington DC, and also a 100% soft-money scientist, so he understands in detail both sides of the funding desk. He is familiar with private foundations as well as NSF, ONR, DARPA, and NIH. His most recent success was a 23-investigator, 8-institution five-year proposal to NIH to establish a Research center of Excellence concerned with diseases and Bioterrorism that was funded for $86.6 M, renewable.
